Shayna Silberzweig is currently a rising junior at Columbia University in New York, NY, who came across from Oakland, CA. Shayna instantly became involved with The Remedy Project on campus through the Columbia-Barnard chapter in 2023. Shayna served as a member of the group’s Campaigns Team where she parsed through documents and statues to create truthful, compelling, and motivating campaign stories to spread the injustices faced by our incarcerated members. Shayna is now the chapter’s Outreach Lead, coordinating meetings, sharing updates, corresponding with the school for events and tabling, and working on a broader outreach into the surrounding communities in Harlem to interact with our work. Shayna is passionate about the work that the Remedy Project does and driven to create tangible and lasting change in the criminal justice system.
