August is an award-winning independent animator and illustrator based in New York City. His illustrated work focuses on themes of childhood trauma and childhood fables. August has worked as an Art/English teacher in both American public schools and French public schools (ESL and English to unaccompanied migrant youth). August was the first contributing artist on the Remedy Project website, designed and taught the first Remedy Project “Art and Social Change” course at Science Leadership Academy in Philadelphia.
